The Uruti School in New Zealand held a bizarre competition of dressing up dead possum as part of their fundraising day. The children let their imagination run wild as they tried to dress their dead animal to impress the competition judges. One animal was actually skinned to look like a boxer, others were dressed in a bikini or in a wedding gown.
It has sparked horror with animal welfare groups but teachers defended the contest as ‘lots of fun’ which helped raise more than £4,000 for the school. Principal Pauline Sutton told the Taranaki Daily News: ‘There was an amazing crowd and it was lots of fun. Animals aren’t the only species who are dressed up after they die. We do it to humans too.’ ~ source
