Russian Pensioner Decorates her House with 30,000 Bottle Caps

Not all of us really see everyday objects in an imaginative way, but a Russian pensioner Olga Kostina found creative use of plastic bottle caps. She collected the plastic bottle caps and once she felt she had enough in her stash to complete her artistic vision she used 30,000 of the caps to adorn her home with colorful pattern and images – making it somewhat of a local landmark.

Street Artists Turned Bus Stops Into Homes

Protest with angry banners, boycott or even with creating petition is old thing now because two artists came up with a far more creative – and eye-catching – way to make their feelings known about bank bosses.

They transformed bus stops into miniature houses overnight to highlight how some people may lose their homes to banks involved in the financial crisis.

The ‘art attack’ saw one stop in Whalley Range, Manchester, kitted out with a picket fence and astroturf.

A second, on Chorlton Road in Hulme, became a child’s bedroom complete with Disney wallpaper, pictures and even a bed.

A fake ‘foreclosure’ sign next to the first stop, on Withington Road, said ‘900 families could have their homes repossessed by the same banks that caused the financial crisis’.
